The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) is a division of LEG. Since 2011, it has organized the academix Thuringia company contact fair . Young skilled workers, students, graduates, and young professionals meet Thuringian employers from all parts of the state who present their companies, job openings, and internship opportunities.

The challenge: Overcoming the skills shortage

To ensure the growth of the Thuringian economy, a key task of ThAFF is to support companies in recruiting employees. According to recent surveys, two out of three Thuringian companies consider the shortage of skilled workers to be the greatest risk to their own development.

It is particularly important to attract young professionals and graduates to employment in Thuringia. When young professionals get to know companies in their own region, they often choose to pursue a career path in their hometown. Steps to filling open positions for skilled workers

ThAFF provides a platform for encounters between professionals and employers. It creates the spatial and technical prerequisites for contact in face-to-face, digital, and hybrid formats.

Thanks to years of networking, ThAFF has developed excellent contacts with potential exhibitors. Many companies participate in the academix contact fair ; at the same time, ThAFF is constantly seeking new exhibitors.

In the run-up to the event, ThAFF runs advertising campaigns to raise awareness of the trade fair among young professionals. These campaigns include online advertising, flyers, print ads, and events at universities.

On the day of the event, the event team ensures the smooth running of the trade fair, informs press representatives, and provides individual support to visitors. This allows even last-minute requests and needs of exhibitors to be addressed on-site.

Results: Attracting skilled workers to Thuringia

Since 2011, academix has established itself as Thuringia's most important company contact fair. It brings together exhibitors and skilled workers from all over Thuringia; most recently in 2021, this included around 100 exhibitors and approximately 1,000 young professionals. The Thuringian job fair academix is thus an important part of the comprehensive range of services offered by ThAFF, which also includes the commuter and returnee fair comeback, numerous commuter days, and information events for Thuringian companies. ThAFF makes a significant contribution to meeting the demand for skilled workers in Thuringia.
