Another highlight last year was the stay of the German and English national football teams at the Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land (Blankenhain) during the European Football Championship. LEG supported this with a series of infrastructure improvements – these included managing an interdisciplinary competition for the future urban renewal of Blankenhain's town center, redesigning the town's sports complex to serve as an alternative training ground for national teams, and renovating and upgrading the castle forecourt as part of the temporary use of the historic Blankenhain Castle as a media center. During the German team's training camp, there was an opportunity to attend a public training session at the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld in Jena; we combined this with the annual event of our marketing campaign "Hidden Champions – Thuringian World Market and Technology Leaders," at which companies achieving top performance and leading the market were recognized.

The German Football Association (DFB) has now formalized a partnership with Thuringia, whereby its football teams will regularly be based in Blankenhain, and 100 Thuringian companies have been recognized as Hidden Champions – both testaments to the performance and future viability of Thuringia as a business location. With countless other activities and projects – which we will report on below for the year 2024 – we will continue to make diverse contributions to ensure that the Free State progresses on its successful path. For over three decades, we have been committed to strengthening Thuringia as a business and technology hub and improving the quality of life in the Free State. To this end, we attract investors and develop industrial sites, support local companies in their international business, help unlock innovation potential, and contribute to attracting skilled workers for the local economy. Furthermore, we develop residential building land for home builders, realize complex real estate projects, and engage in urban and regional development.
